1st State of the Art workshop on e-Democracy

Putting markers in the fast changing field of e-democracy

Title: “State of the Art: e-Democracy”

Objectives: to provide a summary and systematic picture of what is going on in e-Democracy in order to assist the practitioners in their search for guidance. The proceedings and other materials will be serving as a basis for the e-Democracy curriculum for the following trainings.

Format: Moderated roundtable discussion. It will last 1 and a half day. Each expert will submit, prior to the workshop, a academic paper on e-Democracy. The Editorial Team will review the submitted papers and select the participating experts. During the workshop, each paper will be presented. A discussion will follow, moderated by one of the experts present.

Outputs: The debate will be recorded. The Editorial Team will complete the proceedings with the results of the debate. The proceedings will be published on UNITAR website. The proceedings and any other material will also be published in a paper-version.

Dates: 17-18 December 2007

Venue: Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland
